Toledo police report results from 2nd targeted operation

The Toledo Police Department on Monday shared the results from another focused operation, which targeted illegal activity in the Sylvania Corridor of the Five Points neighborhood.

Operation FASER, which stands for Five Points Area Safety Enforcement Response, was done in collaboration with other area law enforcement agencies.

The department reported that since the operation%u2019s launch on Feb. 21, they arrested 203 people, issued 590 citations, executed 8 search warrants, and seized 38 firearms and $216,090 worth of drugs.

%u201COperation FASER has been successful in addressing crime and blight, and will continue as the department will partner with other Toledo public service departments and the community to improve the quality of life in the Sylvania Corridor,%u201D the statement from the department reads in reference to the Sylvania Avenue corridor.

When targeting area traffic, the operation was successful in towing 101 abandoned vehicles, issuing 302 parking tags, and making nine DUI arrests.

The announcement comes not long after operation LASER was completed, which was the same initiative that targeted the Lagrange Street area.
